Reflections on Last Week — Returning to the Room Through the Lens of Learning
Reflections on Last Week ; Returning to the Room Through the Lens of Learning
If I could step back into that conference room last week filled with architects, designers, ecologists, psychologists, and friends I would. Not just for the talks, but for the shared energy of people who care about all things Biophilia.
So many ideas felt deeply relevant to education:
• Robert Gardner on how green space boosts memory and cognition in children
• Adam White & Andrée Davies on rewilding childhood
• Michelle Brandon & Robert Delius on nature as medicine
• Ulysse Dormoy on health in a disconnected world
• Julian Treasure on sound and the nervous system
• Frankie Boyle’s evolutionary sensory storytelling
And in the corridors, the conversations with
Nuria Muñoz Arce, Nicole Craanen, Jenna Mikus, Fiona Gray and so many others made it clear that we’re part of a growing community of educators, designers and practitioners all committed to moving this biophilic conversation into real, practical change.
This is the heart of our Education pillar:
helping teachers feel confident, creative, supported and equipped to teach with nature, not around it.
And I’m happy to share that our new website is officially live
For the teachers and school leaders in this community:
If there is one thing you would like the School of Biophilia to focus on next for education, what would it be?
